Dear Parents, Family and Friends,
It is so hard to believe that 2010 has arrived and we are just about mid-way through the academic year. Time has truly flown by and I can honestly say that the time I have spent with your children has been a joy. I thank you for the time and support you share with all of our kids. You are such a key to our students’ success.
As we begin the new year, I would like to say a special, “Thank you” to our Petrolia Parent-Teacher-Community-Organization (PTCO). We have a very dedicated group that has spent many, many, hours raising money to support our school. The PTCO asked the staff to supply them with a “wish list” of needs for their classrooms. The PTCO was able to fill each of those needs! Wow, what a tremendous help that was. The group meets about once per month in the evening to discuss upcoming projects and ways they can help support our students. If you would like to be a part of this group you are welcome to join them at their next meeting. All meeting dates are sent out by email as well as notes sent home with your student.
As I look back on the past few months, it is difficult not to count the gifts we have and share. Our students are kind, hard working and enthusiastic. Our Petrolia staff is dedicated, compassionate and constantly strives for high academic standards. Our district rates among the top 8% academically in the state of Texas. This is a tremendous accomplishment that we should all be proud of and boast about often. It is my hope that we continue on this path of continuous improvement for many years to come. Again, thanks for all the support you show our students and know that you are always welcome to come and visit our outstanding campus.
